I know I come off as a dick to a lot of you Mizzou fans on this board. The truth is, I am around a lot of Mizzou fans on a daily basis and have several friends who are Tiger fans. I don't think you guys are getting it. You want everyone to think you are the pretty girl at the prom now that you got the SEC invite. Sorry but it just isn't going to be that way. You have to earn every bit of respect on the field and honestly I just don't see that happening! Here are some reasons why I think Mizzou will fail in the SEC:
Gary Pinkel is a pretty good guy, and it appears that he doesn't cheat. That's going to be a problem. In the SEC if you aint cheatin you aint tryin! Think Scam Newton esq cheating. Get on that.
Recruiting. You guys can compete in the Big 12 with Texas leftovers. But not in the SEC. Your Texas recruiting has already stumbled a bit. Wait until you have been out of the Big 12 a few years. You better grab some connections in Georgia and Florida pretty quickly. Granted, the state of Missouri produces solid talent, but many SEC schools will start poaching. That and some flat out will want to be playing close to home in the Big 12.
Offensive philosophy. The spread has been known to work in the SEC. In fact two teams have won national titles running a version of it. Auburn and Florida. But unless you have a Tebow or Newton to run the ship, forget it. The Bamas, LSU's etc of the world will eat you alive in the trenches, and every SEC school can cover your receivers. That's going to be a big problem.
Depth. Missouri has proven they can field solid teams. But in the SEC your going to notice a severe lack of depth especially when injuries set in. Teams like Alabama will run over your D-lines in the 4th quarters of games when your players are tired and you have no one to sub in.

I agree in principal with some of that, but why are you so obsessed with Mizzou to begin with? And yes you do come off as a giant douche on this board so congrats.

With regards to recruiting, ours has picked up immensely this year alone. Sitting at 14 commitments with 3 4 stars. I don't see any 4 starts on Arky's board yet. You guys act like every other school rakes in nothing but 4 star studs at every position and that is simply not the case (unless you are Bama or LSU).

I guess that is how you react to the colossal ass whoopin the last time Arky met MU But that was your greatest team EVER (which still didn't play in a BCS game despite the fact that I personally believed you deserved to) and playing an Arkansas team that was 8-4 and had lost our head coach already.

I guess that is how you react to the colossal ass whoopin the last time Arky met MU Nope, they don't remember that game and have used every excuse in the book (like bosshawg mentioned above). They are worse at revisionist history than ku was.

I've always wondered why Arkansas fans say things like this. They won a basketball title in 94 and I think they claim a football title in the 60's but really what have they done to earn this level of douchebaggery?

But some of his points are valid. What is Mizzou going to do if/when the Texas well dries up?

bawshogg88 - Your douchebaggery knows no bounds. "That and some flat out will want to be playing close to home in the Big 12." So let me get this straight, Mizzou is going to lose out on in state recruits because they'll want to play closer to home? You do realize that Mizzou will still play 6-7 games a year in Missouri right? And that by playing somewhere else in the Big 12 close by (say KU, KSU or ISU) they'll play exactly NONE?

But some of his points are valid. What is Mizzou going to do if/when the Texas well dries up? topdawg85; I have seen our recruiting pressure heat up in the GA/FL area within the year. I was a grad. student at UGA starting in 2009. I never heard of any Mizzou presence in the surrounding area. We have invested many man hours in this area. We also have started a good deal getting local talent to stay instate. The ability to sell recruits on playing the best talent in the country, which everybody knows, is the SEC, has shown excellent returns. Everybody knows, if you're a talented kid, the SEC is the place to be. It is the ultimate college football conference. We will still recruit texas, but our involvement in the southeastern states will only get better.

LOL@ Gamecock fan. Still smarting after Mizzou spotted you a 21 point lead (twice) and then decided to just go ahead and kick your ass the rest of the way. Brad Smith is still running all over you.

Did u feel better now? My gosh I have seen more people who aren't MU fans saying MU feels like they are elite. Most MU fans realize coming to the SEC is going to a different. Every fan base has your gung-ho fans including Ark. Then you have the ones who are more down to earth. Lighten up no bodys pulling on your pig ear.
