It is all good, Tamu and MU fans are not expecting to win the SEC this year or even next year. It will take time, but to act like they will get ran over is laughable at best.
Now I am not a fan of conference ratings stats, I prefer the eye test. And while the eye says the SEC is better and it indeed is. Statistically last year for a large part of the season. The Big 12 was rated as the best football conference.
So TAMU and MU are NOT coming from a scrub conference with scrub teams 1-10 and 12 in previous years.

The only true way to compare conferences is through bowl performances against teams from other conferences. Each conference has their own style of play that can lead to either inflated, or deflated stats.

Except for the time MU beat SCAR in a bowl game with Spurrier as their coach spotting them 21 point leads, twice in the same game. And except for that one time MU beat Arky in the cotton bowl, right?

I love the SEC, so glad to be here but I do sense that there is some arrogance in this conference and rightfully so. The thing is, who are Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Kentucky? Definitely no better than Mizzou or A&M.

Some of that is certainly a fair assessment and the title calling them "nobodys" is a little misleading, although lets face it, both teams will have to earn their stripes in this conference before any credit is given.

Our limited action against the SEC has no bearing on today, of course but we killed Ole Miss two years in a row and have beaten South Carolina and Arkansas in bowl games (our one SEC loss of the Pinkel era was also to Arkansas). The bottom portion of the Big XII is very similar to these Ole Miss type teams, although the SEC has and will never have a team as bad as kansas.

It's hard for y'all to get over that Cotton bowl victory. Must have been one of the more "special" times for your program. Sadly. That's not what I meant either. If you want to compare conferences, after bowl season, go through all the games, and see which conference won more. That's a fair way to determine which conference was better that season. Missouri being 5-2 over the course of its history against the SEC in bowl games has absolutely zero reflection on how good any conference is.
