The news about Dante Phillips wasn’t as positive for Florida.
The four-star defensive lineman was the second commitment in the 2012 recruiting class. His verbal actually went to Urban Meyer and the previous coaching staff.
Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun reported early Monday afternoon that Phillips was cleared by the NCAA Clearing House to enroll, but it was Florida’s admissions that wouldn’t accept him.
Already through the NCAA hurdles, Phillips’ father told Andreu that his son would begin looking at other major college football programs to play.

Spurned? Phillips was denied by admissions. UT ended up getting out table scraps.
