5 star kid committed to Bama a few weeks ago. Wasn't he pretty high on Mizzou for awhile? I read a lot of things that indicated he was probably heading there then it just kind of cooled off, what was the story?

It seems like Mizzou put pressure on him to commit and he wasn't ready. At least that is the story I've heard.

We wound up accepting Jeff Clarkson, a transfer guard from Tulsa instead. As Balboa said, rumor has it the Mizzou staff wanted a timely commitment and he wasn't ready to do so. Should do well at Bama.

Not surprising at all about Pollard. MU also told Ishmail Wainwright they are no longer recruiting him a year later after he opened up his recruitment.
They landed Zach Coleman and athletic inside/outside forward/wing player who is 6'8 and is blowing up this summer already. From reports he was dominate at the CP3 camp.
MU is after D'Angelo Russell who can score from anywhere on the floor. Top 20 recruit for 2013 and a 5 star player. They are also after Robert Hubbs, and a PF from the Kongo playing ball in Nebraska as well as a lot of other highly talented kids.
Haith, Fuller, and Miller are not waiting on kids, first one to accept the offer gets the spot.

I like that our staff seems to be really prepared even when something falls through with a kid. Our 2012 team should be really strong. Like top 3 in the SEC strong. Adding Oriakhi down low is huge for us. He and Bowers will be nice compliments to each other. Add the athleticism of Bell/Ross at the SF position and there is athleticism everywhere and way more size than we had last year. Can't wait.

As others have said here, we gave Pollard the chance to commit before we offered Jordan Clarkson. He wasn't ready so he turned it down. I kind of had a feeling he was going to Bama anyway. He's gonna be "the man" at Bama. Mizzou already had a deep roster, and we are pretty set for the SF position. I would of loved to have him but I'm glad he chose Bama over Texas/GT. I'm glad he stayed with the SEC.

The Tigers wanted Pollard and worked hard to get him. In the end when Pollard wasn't ready to make a decision and the opportunity arose to sign the talented transfer guard from Tulsa the staff went for the sure thing. Pollard may have chosen Bama anyway and Pollard stated he plans to be a one and done. He looks to be a great pick up for Bama and will bring his sweet lefty touch and high flying game with him.
